Martin Marshall

From the Administrator

At the September 12th Personnel/Ways and Means meeting the Board of Commissioners received the draft budget prepared by the County Administrator’s office.  This year they received two versions of the budget.  The Option A budget is predicated on passage of the November 7th renewal of the separate tax limitations proposal.  That budget continues funding for the current programs and services provided by County government.  Read his entire message

Lenawee County Board of Commissioners

Board of Commissioners

 The Board of Commissioners approved a resolution in opposition of Senate Bill 386 “The general property tax act” - allowing new collateral attacks on judicial foreclosure orders after the orders are final and appeal rights exhausted, SB 386 would undermine the quality of the fee simple title vested in the foreclosing governmental unit, cloud otherwise clear titles, create uncertainty, and reduce prices paid for tax-foreclosed properties at tax sales, all of which undermine the current effective tax sale and delinquent tax collection process;
The Board confirmed the appointments of:  Deidre Reed and Amy Palmer to the Community Mental Health Authority Board
In September, the Board of Commissioners reviewed two versions of the 2018 Budget;  Option A includes the proposed millage; Option B does not.
