[ARCHIVED] Bed Bugs

bed bug infestation

Did you know that bed bugs do not jump, fly or hop?  They travel on a host to find a new hiding spot but do not live on our bodies.

Most bed bugs are found within 8 feet of a person's resting place. They can be found in mattresses, box springs, bed frames and bedding.  Some other hiding spots include cracks and crevices in furniture or hardwood floors, behind pictures, clocks, electrical outlets or peeling wall paper, in curtains or under carpet.

Signs of bed bugs may be more obvious than the insects themselves since they look similar to many other small insects.  Look for clusters of dark spots or smudges on mattresses, especially along seams.

Vacuuming can help reduce the numbers of bed bugs but is not 100% effective.  For vacuuming tips visit:

As always, it is best to call a qualified pest professional to help eliminate a bed bug infestation!
