[ARCHIVED] Take Control of Your Balance: Free Fall Prevention Events This September

Fall Prevention Events

Falls are the leading cause of injury for older adults—but they don’t have to be a normal part of aging. If you or a loved one are concerned about balance or the risk of falling, there are steps you can take now to stay steady and independent.

This September, in recognition of Fall Prevention Awareness Month, WellWise Services Area Agency on Aging is hosting a series of free Fall Prevention Events across the region, including a couple stops in Lenawee County. These sessions are designed to empower older adults, caregivers, and families with practical tools and resources to reduce the risk of falling.

Upcoming Events:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 10 | 12–1 PM
WellWise Services – 107 Chicago St, Brooklyn, MI
  • Monday, Sept. 15 | 1–2 PM
Jackson County Department on Aging – 1715 Lansing Ave, Jackson, MI
  • Tuesday, Sept. 16 | 10–11 AM
Clinton Senior Center (UCC Church) – 300 Tecumseh Rd, Clinton, MI
  • Wednesday, Sept. 17 | 1–2 PM

  • Monday, Sept. 22 | 1–2 PM

  • Ways to reduce your fall risk through medication management and simple home safety changes
  • Access to free consultations and resources from Options Counselors to help with home modifications, assistive devices, and other support services

These events are free to attend and open to the public. Whether you’re an older adult, a caregiver, or simply interested in learning more, you’ll walk away with valuable information and tools to stay safe.
