On September 3, 2020, a local emergency order was issued that restricted outdoor gatherings to no more than 25 persons not of the same household, within Adrian Township, Madison Township, City of Adrian and all university or college properties. The order was put in place as a strategy to prevent the spread of COVID-19 after the county experienced a 182% increase in COVID-19 cases among 18 to 24 year-olds in the month of August.
Recent data shows a decrease in cases among 18 to 24 year-olds during the last 3 weeks of September, with 71% of the 129 cases among 18 to 24 year-olds occurring during the first week of the month.
Given the decrease in cases, the Lenawee County Emergency Order 2020-15 has been lifted.
The Lenawee County Health Department will continue to monitor the data closely and consider future action as necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
Thank you for your continued patience, support and positivity as we get through this challenging time.
