[ARCHIVED] Meijer Voucher Program for Veterans

VA Events

If you are a veteran and your household was financially affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic and Michigan’s State of Emergency, you may qualify for temporary emergency assistance.

Lenawee County Department of Veterans Affairs is participating in the MVAA/CVSF Meijer Voucher Program.  The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) has partnered with Meijer through the County Veterans Service Fund (CVSF) grant to help veterans impacted/affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and Michigan’s state of emergency with vouchers for grocery relief.  To purchase food, paper products, laundry and household cleaning supplies, health and beauty care and pet food.  Vouchers are for emergent grocery need purchases only, general merchandise items cannot be purchased with them.  The MVAA CVSF Meijer Voucher Program ends 9-30-2020 or when the vouchers are gone.

The veteran must complete an application provided by the Lenawee County Department of Veterans Affairs.  Supply a copy of his/her DD-214 and/or NGB-22 (proof of military service under honorable conditions discharged from the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, National Guard or Reserves).  Proof of Lenawee County Michigan residency is required along with the veteran providing a Pandemic Hardship Statement on how the 2020 pandemic has financially impacted/affected their household (veteran and/or spouse laid-off or lost job or employment hours reduced or took in family members to assist essential workers).

To inquire about the MVAA/CVSF Meijer Voucher Program, check eligibility for other temporary emergency assistance programs for delinquent bills and to ask about veteran related benefits, please contact the Lenawee County Department of Veterans Affairs, 1040 S. Winter St., Ste. 3017, Adrian MI 49221 (517) 264-5335, veterans.affair@lenawee.mi.us.  Office hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 am till 4:30 pm, closed for lunch and on Fridays for administrative purposes.
