[ARCHIVED] Coronavirus – Guidance for Events and Gatherings

The health department is providing the following guidance for events and gatherings while Lenawee County is in Phase 4 of the MI Safe Start Plan and following Executive Order 2020-110. Lenawee County is part of Region 7, which includes Lenawee, Hillsdale, and Jackson. Everyone’s actions can help limit the spread of Coronavirus. Event organizers set the tone for participants and attendees by setting the expectation that these guidelines will be followed for the health and safety of our community.

Events and Gatherings:


Indoor gatherings are permitted up to 10 people, provided that 6 feet of separation is maintained between individuals not of the same household.

Outdoor gatherings are permitted up to 100 people, provided that 6 feet of separation is maintained between individuals not of the same household.

  • Do not provide self-service food or drink.
  • Place chairs a minimum of 6 feet apart.
  • Singing and playing of instruments that may produce respiratory droplets, is discouraged indoors.  
  • Everyone must wear a face covering when in enclosed public places and outdoors when 6 feet of separation from others cannot be maintained.
  • Encourage those who are ill to stay home.
  • Encourage good hand hygiene by making hand washing and hand sanitizer available.  
  • Limit commonly touched surfaces to the extent possible. Frequently disinfect any commonly touched surfaces. EPA Approved Disinfectants for Use Against COVID-19


Messaging to participants prior to the event:

  • Gathering size will be limited to 10 people (indoors), or 100 people (outdoors).
  • Everyone must wear a face covering when in enclosed public places and outdoors when 6 feet of separation from others cannot be maintained.
  • Individuals not of the same household should maintain 6 feet of separation from others.
  • Those who are ill should stay home.

 

Signage to post at the event:

  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Wear a face covering over nose and mouth
  • Wash/sanitize hands frequently
  • Maintain 6 feet of distance from others
