[ARCHIVED] Lung Cancer Awareness Month

radon in home

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Smoking is known to be the most common cause of lung cancer in the US, but did you know that radon is the second leading cause? The Lenawee County Health Department has radon test kits for your home, and they will be FREE in the month of January. Remember to get your home tested; there are steps you can take to reduce radon in your home if it is detected. Studies have also shown that smokers and former smokers that experience exposure to radon have an even higher risk of lunch cancer. Keep you and your family safe and cancer free! https://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancer-causes/radiation-exposure/radon.html https://www.iaslc.org/lcam
