For Michigan Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Funding Lenawee County Rehabilitation Project
Lenawee County will conduct a public hearing on September 10th at 1:35 p.m. at The Old County Courthouse, Commission Chambers, located at 301 N. Main St, Adrian, MI for the purpose of affording citizens an opportunity to examine and submit comments on the proposed application for a CDBG grant.
Lenawee County proposed to use CDBG grant funds in the amount of $1.5 million in CDBG funds for Homeowner Rehabilitation activities for eligible improvements may include health and safety repairs such as roofs, windows, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and accessibility upgrades. All activities, upon completion, will benefit low-to-moderate-income households.
Lenawee County will have no more than five households temporarily displaced due to home rehabilitation and need support services. These services may include assistance with temporary housing and moving costs. Lenawee County is committed to working collaboratively with community partners to support displaced residents throughout the relocation process. Key partners include the Department of Health and Human Services, the Community Action Agency Lead Abatement Program, and Housing Help of Lenawee. With the help of these organizations, not only does it help the homeowner avoid financial strain, but it also makes the process less stressful. Homeowners may also access additional resources through these partnerships, including utility assistance, financial education, and housing counseling services. Post-rehabilitation benefits include a safer living environment, increased property value, and long-term structural improvements.
The following is Lenawee County’s performance in prior CDBG programs:
- CDBG-Housing Rehabilitation-MSHDA 2012-Single family home rehabilitation for low to moderate residents. Completed Successfully. Met all performance and compliance benchmarks.
- Public Amenities -MSHDA 2024- Gerber Park Inclusive Playground Equipment- Completed Successfully- Met all performance measures and compliance benchmarks.
- CDBG- Housing Rehabilitation- MSHDA 2025- Letter of Intent submitted. Ongoing application to continue home rehab program. Application pending for submission by 9-17-2025.

Citizens views and comments on the proposed application are welcome.
Lenawee County will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services at the public hearing to individuals with disabilities. Signers and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting will be provided for the hearing impaired.
