With the increasing demand for transportation—especially among our aging veteran population—DAV (Disabled American Veterans) officials are expressing concern that local veterans may miss critical medical appointments due to a shortage of volunteer drivers.
The Lenawee County Department of Veterans Affairs is urgently seeking compassionate volunteers who value the service and sacrifices of our veterans. By dedicating just one or two weekdays a month, you can make a meaningful impact as a DAV Transportation Volunteer Driver.
Volunteer drivers use a DAV-provided van to transport ambulatory veterans between the Winter Street parking lot in Adrian and the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. Drivers must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a basic physical exam and a VA background check.
