[ARCHIVED] Caregiver Support Group: “Managing Loneliness as a Caregiver and Beyond”

Caregiver Support Group

Monday, June 2, 2025 | 2:00 PM | Daybreak Adult Day Services

The role of a caregiver is one of love, dedication, and selflessness—but it often comes with emotional challenges that can be difficult to talk about, especially the feeling of loneliness. Whether you are actively providing care for a loved one or navigating life after caregiving, it’s not uncommon to feel isolated, overwhelmed, or disconnected from others.

The Lenawee Department on Aging invites you to our next Caregiver Support Group, where we will address the topic: “Managing Loneliness as a Caregiver and Beyond.” This group will meet on Monday, June 2nd at 2:00 PM at Daybreak Adult Day Services, located at 327 Erie Street in Adrian.

This important session will be facilitated by Kathy Johnston Betzoldt, M.A., Licensed Professional Counselor, who brings years of experience in supporting caregivers and helping individuals manage the emotional demands of caregiving. Kathy will guide the group through a thoughtful discussion on the impact of loneliness, how to recognize it in ourselves, and strategies for building emotional resilience and meaningful connections.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences in a supportive environment, learn from others who are walking a similar path, and gain tools to improve their well-being. Whether you’ve just begun your caregiving journey, have been caring for someone for years, or are adjusting to life after caregiving, you are welcome to attend.

Respite care is available during the session at Daybreak, but advance notice is required. Please call 517-266-2588 to arrange care for your loved one while you attend the group.

Caregiving can be a lonely road—but you don’t have to walk it alone. Join us for this valuable opportunity to connect, reflect, and take time for yourself.
