Upon review of the available funds for emergency relief to Lenawee County veterans, it has been determined that adequate funding exists in the current fund balance to meet the emergency needs of veterans for calendar years 2018.
The revenues collected for Veterans Relief are used EXCLUSIVELY for the benefit of those veterans in need of emergency relief.
Therefore the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners does hereby amend the “2017 Lenawee County General Appropriations Act”, Section 2, to set the levy rate for Veterans Relief at zero mills and amend the Millage Rate Request form eliminating the Veterans Relief levy from the 2017 tax bills.
In September, the Board of Commissioners will be reviewing two versions of the 2018 Budget; Option A includes the proposed millage; Option B does not.
