ADRIAN, MI - In light of the spread of the Delta variant of COVID 19, including transmission to individuals who are fully vaccinated, guidance from the CDC recommends that in areas of substantial spread of the virus people should wear masks in indoor public spaces. The attached press release issued yesterday from Health Officer Martha Hall states that Lenawee County has moved into the substantial risk level and has identified the Delta variant in Lenawee County cases.
For the protection of employees, customers, and the overall community, we are reactivating certain elements of the Preparedness and Response plan to require all individuals, employees and customers, vaccinated and non-vaccinated, to wear face coverings to enter County buildings and in all common areas within County buildings. This change in requirement will become effective Monday, August 9th.
We are taking these reasonable steps now to help prevent more aggressive spread of the virus in the next few weeks. The most effective means of reducing virus spread continues to be the vaccines that are readily available from the Health Department or local pharmacies. Please do your part to protect your co-workers and your community.
