River Raising Watershed

River Raising Watershed Volunteers needed cartoon bug with net

Hi Volunteers!

It may not be very warm yet but it is coming, bringing with it exciting opportunities that RRWC needs help with!

Our Adopt-A-Stream program is an awesome way to learn more about our river and its health! You get to collect macroinvertebrates (river bugs) and participate in an almost 20 year old study looking at these bugs to tell us the health of the river at multiple sites. In order to go out into the river and collect these bugs, you must attend the Training Day, to familiarize yourself with the project, how to sample the bugs, and how to stay safe in the river. On the Stream Search Day, you actually get into the river and sample for these cool little bugs!

Please RSVP if you're able to go. Let us know where you live so we can assign you to a site closer to your home.

Training Day is April 27th and Stream Search Day is May 4th. Don't hesitate to ask any questions!

Have a great day,
